Resumen del Libro

Large dense populations in the Llanos de Moxos of lowland eastern Bolivia constructed raised field systems for intensive agricultural production as early as the fifth century A.D. This systematic study concludes that even though no single hypothesis can explain the abandonment of these productive agricultural systems before the Spanish conquest, changes in social organization seem to have been the most important factor.
