Resumen del Libro
A study of the process of establishing cultural identities through literature by comparing sections of Comentarios reales by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and the poem I am Joaquín by Rodolfo Corky Gonzales. This work attempts to demonstrate how, through the refiguring of Andean and Chicano identities, both authorial voices resist their hegemonic influence (imperial Spain and the contemporary United States, respectively) although simultaneously, they reflect a certain degree of ambivalence concerning such opposition.
