Energyscapes
Resumen del Libro

This book analyses how the huge structures involved in the energy-producing sector relate to the landscape around us. Far from being an encyclopaedic compendium or a technical manual, the book is a tool for analyzing the systems, chains of production and artefacts of energy production. The aim of it is to reveal the many facets presented by the world of energy when it comes into contact with the surrounding territory and how its innovations are harmoniously integrated within this. The examination of a wide range of energy artefacts -from mines and quarries to refineries, platforms and solar farms- takes in functioning plants, abandoned installations, converted buildings and innovatory schemes. This exploration leads to surprising meanings being revealed, meanings that extend far beyond the strict technical value of energy infrastructures.
