Inquisition Staff Affidavits
Resumen del Libro

Bound volume of 430 pages of collected affidavits and other documents related to the ancestry and qualifications of Dr. Lorenzo de Terrones, judge of Mexico City, to be counsel to the Holy Inquisition, and of Francisco de Arceo, of Merida, Yucatan, to be an officer of the Holy Inquisition. The papers for Dr. Terrones consist of affidavits from his brother, Father J. de Terrones who was the Inquisitions book critic, and various officials of Mexico. Francisco de Arceo had to prove his lineage for four generations by affidavit, one of which is a patent of nobility from Charles V, printed in Yucatan in 1588. One of the documents is signed by Don Francisco Bazan de Albornoz, apostolic inquisitor of New Spain.
