New Directions In Cuban Photography At The End Of The Xxth Century: Visions Of The Body In Cuban Art
Resumen del Libro
This dissertation analyses one of the most important turns in the history of Cuban Photography: The incorporation of photography as a basic form of artistic expression. Within this crucial movement we have focused on those authors who have used the photographic representation of the human body as the fundamental basis of their work. This orientation, which we can consider essential in Cuban art at the turn of the century, has enabled us to analyse in detail the extensive production carried out by Marta Maria Perez Bravo, Rene Pena, Abigail Gonzalez, Eduardo Hernandez Santos and Cirenaica Moreira, artists who have consolidated the use of the human body and photography as an indispensable tool in Contemporary Cuban Art.
