Retrospective exhibition of painter Viera (b. Uruguay) offering a new perspective of otherwise ignored art figure (last exhibition and publication was more than 20 years ago). Daughter of President Feliciano Viera and deaf-mute since birth she expressed her passion through her paintings. While the artist didnt follow her generation by studying aboard or wasnt a member of the noted Circulo de Bellas Artes, she is still considered the founder of the feminine visual space in Uruguay (particularly with her feminine nudes) and the last representative of the Uruguayan art movement Planismo a style she practiced until the 1940s.
