Platería Tradicional Del Perú
Resumen del Libro

The exhibition is the 6th of a cycle of major exhibitions dedicated to traditional decorative arts of Peru, which ICPNA presents every year in collaboration with the University Ricardo Palma. The exhibition was curated by art historian Luis Eduardo Wuffarden and comprised a select collection of more than 400 pieces from the holdings of public and private collections that represent an extensive and rich panorama of republican silverware of traditional roots, exhibited in a relation to their Pre-Columbian and colonial precedents. The catalogue is divided into chapters that document the different aspects of the use (domestic, festive and ritual) of silver from colonial times to present days. Includes 2 essays on silverware manufacturing techniques.
