The municipality covers an area of 2.13 square kilometres (0.82 sq mi), and has a population of 210 (as at 3 July 2006). Podol lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) east of Perov, 27 km (17 mi) south-east of Olomouc, and 235 km (146 mi) east of Prague. Perov District (Czech: Okres Perov) is a district (okres) within the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the city of Perov. Olomouc Region (Czech: Olomouck kraj) is an administrative unit (Czech: kraj) of the Czech Republic, located in the north-western and central part of its historical region of Moravia (Morava) and in a small part of the historical region of Silesia (Slezsko). It is named for its capital Olomouc.
