Precolumbian Social Change In San Ramon De Alajuela, Costa Rica
Resumen del Libro
Interregional relations and impact have long attracted much attention in Mesoamerican and Andean archaeology. The same has not been true of Central America, where the relative impact of interregional relations nad more local forces on the processes of social change has remained an open question. In this volume, regional settlement study in San Ramón de Alajuela, Costa Rica, is the point of departure for a comparison of trajectories of social change in several nearby regions. Murillo argues that substantial differences in the nature and pacing of these trajectories indicate that local forces were considerably stronger than any impacts they had on each other.
