Resumen del Libro
Catalogue of 19th century photographs of Mexican children from the archives of the Centro de Estudios de Historia de México Condumex, the Museo Soumaya and the Museo del Estanquillo. Text by noted scholar Monsiváis. The collection is an ethnohistoric testimony of a well established tradition of early photography in Mexico and includes a large number of black and white portraits of posing children, alone or accompanied by siblings, in larger groups and as angelitos in infant funerals produced in the photographic studios of Natalia Baquedano, Cruces y Campa, Lorenzo Becerril, Miguel de Toro y Gómez, Emilio Lange, F. Esperón, Luis G. Guzman, Joaquin Urbina and others with a large number of anonymous photographers.
