Carmen Baroja, who was brought up &la according to the Spanish tradition, and who, according to her writings, did not begin to enjoy life until her old age, developed a great artistic activity (gold work) and investigated folklore which no one, not even she, thought very valuable. Throughout the pages of these memoirs one can find all of the great names of the letters, arts, and politics of the Generation of 1898.
