In the early fifteenth century the Grand Master of the Order of Calatrava commissioned rabbi Mose Arragel to translate the Old Testament into Castilian and to provide numerous rabbinical glosses, to which the translator was instructed to add Christian glosses. The result is known as the Biblia de Alba.
