Resumen del Libro

Catalog of Antonio Asis (b. Argentina 1932), a continuation of concrete proposals, is inscribed within the tradition of abstract art and displays his work alongside other contemporary artists that as himself, have looked for -among other things- to move the aesthetic irregularities of geometry, and thus disturb the site of the viewer. Graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires (Argentina), he attended since his formative years the emergence and controversy of the Movement of Concrete Art in Argentina. As a disciple of Hector Cartier, the artist capitalized this concrete experience, incorporated the resources of the theory of vision and the exploration of the possibilities of color and shapes, understood as part of his sensitive knowledge. Space and time are two dimensions that are the basis of Asis work, and somehow construct his visual universe. To see one of his works involves playing with it, move, travel in space for a few seconds. Perhaps this will allow to slightly feel the vibrations caused by the superimposition of frames, those he paints and those from the metal grids (Our translation) –Verso Cover.
