She began skating at the age of 6 and in 2009 was the Canadian Champion in the 1500m. In that same year she received a bronze medal in relay at the World Short Track Championships. She is set to compete for Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the Ladies 3000m relay. Canada hosted and participated in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. Canada previously hosted the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Canada sent a team of 206 athletes (116 men, 90 women), including participants in all 15 sports.
