Resumen del Libro

Painter José Zaragoza (b. Spain 1930, lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil since 1952), an artist and athlete, has been creating large format drawings and paintings (70 x 100 cm) for posters catalogues, reports, etc. for diverse international and local sport events (The Olympiads, FIFA World Cup, Toyota Copa Libertadores, local league soccer championships, etc.). The present book is a catalogue of his best paintings, drawn over the sketches with his fingers using very toxic painting substances that sometimes made his fingers bleed, an artistic experience Jose Roberto Torero highlights in his text: He started drawing figures to develop his technique for moving figure. At times, he would watch a game on TV and quickly drew the plays. He still believes this to be a good exercise. Well, this book holds Zaragozas best works in sports, at the Sport he truly mastered. (…) Here you will see sweat and blood turned to ink. –P. [5].
