AN ARROW IN THE BULLSEYE – Evaluation as learning – Evaluation is an educational phenomenon that conditions the whole teaching and learning process and it can be good for many purposes. The important thing is to use it as learning, as a way of understanding, to improve the practices to which it is applied. The metaphor of the arrow in the bullseye is good to understand, in an obvious way, that one may evaluate to classify, to compare, to select or, simply, to qualify. It is necessary, however, to use it to learn and to improve the learning of the students, the dynamics of the centres, the formation of the professors and the establishment of reforms.
